I can do anything better than you.

Still needs some work, but I'm happy it's utilizing more of the browser's usable space.

"But you're makin amends, through your circle of friends
And you're trying to fit me to their mold."

Wow, a facebook program that lets you add your facebook friends to a circle of new friends! I can only imagine the guy who programmed this 'application' laughing at the absurdity of it all... otherwise I have to imagine him/her as insane.

I'm not going to pick an icon, invite friends, then wait for them to join my 'circle.' Then my friends (who happen to already be my 'friends' on facebook) can look at my 'circle' and see who my friends are... you know, like facebook. Add more circles in case you have no frackin' clue what networks are or haven't figured out what groups are for yet.

Circle of Friends... helping to turn facebook into yet another social networking cluster fuck.

My 360 is now in a UPS distribution center in Obetz, OH... which looking on Google maps tells me is within the 270 loop here in Columbus. A fascinating point if only because it's still scheduled for delivery on June 2nd, approximately 4 days from now, or 1.5 business days. This just baffles me since its less than 1 hour in driving distance from where I live... and maybe 8 hours walking distance.

It's not even like we're heading into a weekend tomorrow either. Tomorrow's a full-on hardcore business day. If they don't deliver it tomorrow... it's for the sole reason that they're stupid pricks trying to punish me for Microsoft being cheap pricks. I hate UPS. They won't even let my Apple widget work with their tracking service anymore. Assholes. I'm going USPS from now on... it's more patriotic.

Oh, well. Time to play with my Wii.

I should have really hired myself to take pictures of me at my wedding.  I'm not bad, and I'm a big fan of the work I've done so far. I even have a nice website I'd probably encourage myself to post the photos on. I could then write a check to myself and introduce everyone to me, that would be fun. But, I'd probably get in a fight with myself over the quality of the photos and then have to sue myself when I don't want to pay for the substandard quality photos I took.  I'd probably just come to my wedding and reception drunk and with an unloaded camera like I did last time.  I should at least give me some advance notice regarding the fact that I don't know what the hell I'm doing.  I just can't believe myself sometimes.

The sad part being, I could drive it there faster than it's taken UPS to fly it there.  At least... according to Google.
With the change in time zones, I might even get there earlier!

Well the box for my Xbox 360 finally came in the mail yesterday (5/19)... delayed thanks to the weekend. As instructed, I packed up my system with no accessories and dropped it in my UPS bin at work. I was told by our mail room guy that it was picked up. The tracking number is still not on UPS' site, at least not with any useful information aside from "Billing information received" which was the same status shown before it was picked up.

From what I've read, I shouldn't expect anything for at least a week... which isn't that bad and would be completely understandable. But a more likely turnaround is about 6 weeks... from what I've heard, so I should probably be thankful that I have my Wii to play with.

Last night my 360 finally kicked the bucket. The red ring of death has finally come to pass. To be honest, I've almost been hoping it would happen as I've had a problem with my tray sticking since I bought the system, but it wasn't something that was covered under the extended 3 year warranty. Hopefully it will be fixed along with the red ring. The price I pay for being an early adopter.

Anyway, I requested a box last night at around 8pm or so from Microsoft's website. In theory, I'll load up my 360, send it to Texas hella quick, and they'll send a refurbished one back within a week or so. In reality, I'm guessing it'll take a month or two and if I'm really unlucky, they'll send it back while I'm in New York.

In any event, I'm going to blog the status so I have a record of how long it took. On the up shot, this will give me more time to play the Wii.

Step 1: Put your music player on shuffle.
Step 2: Post the first line (or so) from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
Step 3: Strike through the songs when someone guesses both artist and track correctly.
Step 4: For those who are guessing -- looking the lyrics up on a search engine is CHEATING!
Step 5: If you like the game post your own.

1) Smeared black ink. Your palms are sweaty, and I'm barely listening to last demands.
2) Well now, baby, I'm from Texas... and I just want to let you know...
3) She got out of town on a railway, New York bound.
4) Time is never time at all. You can never ever leave without leaving a piece of youth.
5) Who do you think you are? Barging in on me and my guitar.
6) Punch drunk. Bust mouth and fingers. I flattened an African. They said, "win and we'll whack you."
7) Girl, to be with you is my favourite thing. I can't wait 'till I see you again.
8) I look at you and try to do the best I can... but sometimes, it ain't that easy.
9) 1, 2, 3! My baby don't mess around because she loves me so, and this I know for sure.
10) Kody sat down on the avenue. He tapped his feet to the hummin' of the highway.
11) I bought a toothbrush, some toothpaste, a flannel for my face.
12) Take this confusion runnin' round my head.
13) With life just begun, my sleeping new son has eyes that roll back in his head.
14) You set my soul at ease, chase darkness out of view.
15) What do you get when you fall in love? A guy with a pin to burst your bubble.
16) I'm so cool, too bad I'm a loser. I'm so smart, too bad I can't get anything figured out.
17) Red alert! Red alert! It's a catastrophe. But don't worry! Don't panic!
18) It's not enough of me, and it's way too much of you.
19) Omnipresent phrase in my mind. Spoken word I've said one million times.
20) Girl listens to mom... so she lights a match and pretends to sleep while everything burns.

Some of these are insanely easy, while others I doubt anyone I know will recognise without a search engine.

I seem to remember doing this before... but that doesn't make it any less fun.

While a devout Mac user, since I'm forced to use a Windows box at work I've been playing with a few programs in the Windows Live suite, which seems to be Microsoft's answer to both Google Desktop and Apple's .Mac/iLife.

Like Google and .Mac, Live has both a software element and an online element.  The software element comes in various forms such as Windows Live Mail, Writer, Messenger, Photo Gallery, and more which I haven't played with.  While all are primarily designed to be used with their corresponding Live services (e-mail, blog, IM, photos), most have the ability to be used with 3rd party services as well.  For example, I'm currently using Live Writer to post to my LiveJournal account... assuming it works.  Photo Gallery supposedly also works with Flickr, and Mail works with almost any POP or IMAP account.  However Messenger only works with Microsoft accounts (Hotmail, MSN, Live, etc.)

While definitely not perfect yet (Mail took some smacking around before it worked), these apps show some potential.  Slicker, Vista-like interfaces designed to compete with their Google and Apple equivalents along with some compatibility with external protocols and plugins might put these programs in the ring with their more popular and better crafted cousins... after a version or two.

Somehow I knew this wouldn't start on time. I honestly don't even know what my role is in this shindig... but whatever it is, I'm happy to do my part.

I'm not sure what we're waiting on. my mother isn't here yet. So I assume that's the reason. Or maybe not since something is now happening.

R.I.P. V.A.N.

The big blue van is now dead. God bless its weary soul.

I need a new car. Well, not literally a new one but something less than 16 years old. I'm thinking of a Herkimer Battle Jitney since it's the finest non-lethal military vehicle ever made. Seriously though, I'm looking at a used PT Cruiser or something around the same price point. However, the problem isn't selecting the car so much as it is getting the money.

Every bank I've applied to so far seems to think a %14-15 interest rate is fair for an auto loan, whereas everyone I've talked to says that's way too high. My credit union is being fairly slow in getting back to me about my personal loan, which doesn't give me too much encouragement concerning the auto loan I just applied for.

There is hope though. Angie seems confident that her credit union can give me a decent rate on a loan, hopefully with a monthly payment I can afford. If not, I'll have to find something else. Either way, I'm fairly confident that things will work out. It will take some doing... but I know I'm capable of handling it... somehow.

Luck is simply probability taken personally.

I won't worry my life away.

I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell.
